Hello and welcome to my shop!
I am so excited you stopped by to browse and I hope you enjoy what you see. I guess my style is Modern Abstract and Impressionist Art. In my little art gallery here, there is a little of everything, from acrylic pouring and sweeping waves, to seascapes and landscapes. I work in both oil and acrylic. It just depends on what inspires me that day.
Where to begin? First of all I never knew that I could paint. My mother was quite gifted and my brother as well but I guess I never really put my mind to it. Well since I have reinvented my self quite a few times in my life, I figured why not add this to the conundrum wrapped in an enigma that is me.
I started out as a bartender/waitress/model in NYC and somehow ended up as a Surgical Physician Assistant. Go figure...I don't know how the former led to the latter either! Other than my little Italian mother, standing on her tippy toes and waving her finger in my face. "Go to school! Get a real job! No-one looks good in a bathing suit forever!" I was 23 and already had crows feet so my days were numbered.
As you can imagine, my work days now can be very stressful. Just add turning 50 and losing my mother to that 20 years of stress and you get a little mini meltdown otherwise known as menopause 😁 Just kidding. But I had that too.
As I was going through my moms closets and drawers, I found all her acrylic paints and crafts. After that, I just sat down one day and started painting. It was the best thing I ever could have done to get me through my grief, anxiety and depression. I watched tutorials and just kept trying and failing but learning with each painting. And of course a dear friend of mine, who is an artist, sent me my first set of oil paints, brushes and some canvases. She just kept encouraging me and pushing me to paint more. "Just paint damn it!" Come to think of it, she reminds me a little of my mom. 🤨
Now I can't imagine my life without painting!
Thank you again for stopping by! And I hope you come back soon 💕
